Ring in the New Year! Look at how much fun January is!

On January 12–13, our preschool young learners will take part in the Home Safe Home program with a special visit from the Burn Prevention Network. This engaging, age-appropriate program teaches children (ages 3–6) how to recognize potentially dangerous situations and what to do to stay safe, using their friendly mascot, Flick the Firefly. Young learners will explore important concepts like what is hot, what is not, and what is sometimes hot, along with learning about common home hazards and what to do if they ever find matches or lighters.

On January 13, we’re excited to welcome the Bookmobile to WellKind School! Reading is such an important part of early learning, and this special visit gives our young learners a fun opportunity to explore books in a new way. Preschool and PreK classroom from our full day program will visit the Bookmobile with their educators, and young learners will be able to choose a book to take home. Important: IMPORTANT: Your child will need to bring their own library card to participate. If you need to apply for one, you can do so here: https://lclshome.org/join/ The Bookmobile will remain on-site until Pre-K Counts is dismissed, so families are welcome to stop by and visit the bus together at pick-up as well.

Reminder for grown-ups: On January 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, our Pre-K Counts (PKC) program will be closed, while our private full-day program will operate on its normal schedule. Please plan accordingly.

Music Class is Back on Tuesdays! We’re excited to share that Music Class is back on Tuesdays during January and February—every other week. Please keep an eye on your Brightwheel calendar for the specific dates for your child’s class Music is a fun way for young learners to build listening skills, practice rhythm and movement, grow language through songs, and enjoy learning together as a community.

National Hugging Day is Wednesday, January 21st, our young learners will celebrate with a feel-good, Whole-Child Learning experience focused on our Emotional Growth pillar. We’re inviting all young learners to dress as superheroes, or with super hero t-shirts because we’ll be sharing the message that hugging is a superpower that can help us feel safe, connected, and cared for. Throughout the day, we’ll practice kind ways to show affection and support (always with permission). STAY TUNED: Parent + Child Super Hugger Yoga, where grown-ups and young learners will “activate” their Super Hugger power through fun, simple yoga moves and calming breaths. The 2026 calendar has been posted in your Communication Feed, and you can access it anytime in two easy ways: 1.Calendar button in your child’s profile: Open the Brightwheel parent app, go to your young learner’s profile, and tap Calendar to view upcoming events, school closings, and early dismissals. 2. Downloadable calendar in Paperwork: In your young learner’s profile, go to Paperwork → Files to find a downloadable copy of the calendar.
