Core Values

The Core Values of a WellKind School
Team Member!

Our Core Values are the basis upon which the members of the company make decisions, plan strategies, and interact with one another. They reflect what is important to our organization and what it stands for. Our Core Values depict the highest standards we live by and embody what being the best version of ourselves looks like.

We don’t wait for someone else to take the lead or set the tone. We are the example. We hold ourselves to a high standard of excellence in everything we do, from the biggest decisions to the smallest details. We act with integrity, respect, and care, even when no one is watching, because we know our actions shape the culture we’re building together.

This looks like:

  • Taking pride in every task, no matter how small

  • Following through on commitments

  • Modeling calm during challenges instead of reacting impulsively

  • Staying aligned with WellKind values even when under pressure

  • Owning mistakes and learning from them without blame

  • Being consistent and reliable in both words and actions

Our energy and attitude matters. We choose to lead with kindness, gratitude, and optimism, especially in the hard moments. Positivity is not just a mood , it’s a decision and a mindset we practice daily to uplift those around us and fuel our shared work.

This looks like:

  • Starting the day with a warm “good morning”, even when it’s a tough day

  • Encouraging teammates with kind words and small check-ins

  • Reframing problems with possibility: “Let’s figure it out together.”

  • Laughing with learners and coworkers to build joy and connection

  • Avoiding gossip and negative talk that dims the energy

  • Sharing out moments of gratitude or success to the team

  • Using your presence to calm, inspire, or lift the room up

Every interaction is an opportunity to make an impact. Whether we’re comforting a child, setting up a learning space, or checking in on a coworker, we do it with presence and purpose. The small things become the big things and we treat them that way.

This looks like:

  • Taking time to connect meaningfully with learners and colleagues throughout the day

  • Preparing the classroom with intention so it feels calm and welcoming

  • Slowing down to really listen to a learner, parent, or colleague

  • Supporting a child’s big feelings with compassion, not just redirection

  • Leaving a shared space better than you found it

  • Choosing care over convenience in your interactions and routines

  • Doing the extra little thing- not for credit, but because it matters

We commit to personal and professional growth because we know that we can only go as far as we are willing to grow. We also know that our development fuels the growth of others and elevates the climate for all. We take ownership of our well-being, seek feedback, and stretch ourselves- not to be perfect, but to keep evolving with purpose.

This looks like:

  • Reflecting on how a tough day can help you grow stronger
  • Asking for support when you feel stuck, rather than staying silent

  • Engaging in wellness habits that help you bring your best self to work

  • Seeking out trainings or development opportunities with openmindedness

  • Offering and receiving feedback with respect and intention

  • Making time to set personal goals and revisit them often

Modeling lifelong learning for children, teammates, and families alike

We believe in the power of inclusion, connection, and shared humanity. Every person- child, educator, or family member – deserves to feel seen, valued, and safe. We build belonging through our words, our actions, and the culture we nurture together. We recognize and celebrate differences, foster emotional safety, and build relationships rooted in respect and empathy.

This looks like:

  • Taking time to pronounce names correctly, learn family traditions, and stories
  • Learning the names of all learners and their primary caregivers
  • Intentionally nurturing classroom communities where everyone feels comfortable
  • Celebrating the diverse backgrounds and strengths of our team

  • Welcoming new team members and learners with care, not just paperwork

  • Modeling fairness and kindness in how we speak about others

  • Making space for quieter voices to be heard in conversations and meetings

  • Challenging exclusion or cliques gently and directly when they appear

  • Teaching children that kindness, empathy, and respect are non-negotiable
  • Inviting participation from learners, families, or colleagues.
