UPDATE: Thank you for adopting a stuffed animal today on National Hug Day!

The stuffed animals will arrive at the center from 3 pm and will be available until 5 pm. The experience of making a stuffed animal lasts approximately 15 minutes and will take place outside the classrooms.

If you signed up to adopt a stuffed animal, please read the following information.

$16 will be charged to your brightwheel account for a small stuffed animal.

If you want to add a superhero costume for the stuffed animal, you can do so and it will also be charged to your account.

The experience of making a stuffed animal will be a parent-child activity.

The stuffed animal factory will be located in the front of the building or at the reception depending on the weather.

It is not necessary that you come at a different time than your usual pick-up time.

If you didn’t sign up to make a stuffed animal, you can still request to make a stuffed animal with your child at pick-up time.

Invite a Hugging Buddy to your Family this National Hugging Day!

This year we will continue with the lesson: SELF-LOVE and SELF-HUGGING!

Children will be learning the affirmation I love myself! Children will also learn how to hug themselves!

Additionally…to celebrate Hugging we are inviting a NEW FRIEND to WellKind School: A STUFFED ANIMAL BUDDY!

Can hugging a stuffed animal actually help regulate emotions?

Here is what we learned:
When cuddling something soft and comforting, levels of cortisol — the stress hormone — are greatly lowered from the physical contact of hugging.

That comfort releases oxytocin, a hormone that relaxes and soothes the mind.
Research shows that stuffed animals do the same things for us!
This year, to celebrate Hugging Day, we have invited our friends from Make a Buddy to our school!
You and your child will have the opportunity to build your own cuddle buddy!
Children will have a blast making their own stuffed animals with Make a Buddy right here at WellKind School for Early Learners.

The Make a Buddy experience is $16 for a small buddy with a white outfit. Special superhero outfits can be bought during the experience as well!

When you Make a Buddy at WellKind School you will also be giving back. A portion of the cost will be donated to a charity of your choice!
